2017 Native Prairie Appreciation Week

Join us in celebrating Saskatchewan's 19th Native Prairie Appreciation Week June 18-24, 2017!

Jointly proclaimed by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Environment, Native Prairie Appreciation Week (NPAW) is a weeklong celebration dedicated to raising awareness of our valuable grassland ecosystems across Saskatchewan. 

NPAW is celebrated across the province with a variety of events, including awareness booths at Farmer's Markets, a social media campaign, a photo contest, and more!
SK PCAP will be on-site at the following Farmer's Markets:

  • Saskatoon Farmer's Market - Sunday, June 18 from 10am-3pm
  • Regina Farmer's Market - Wednesday, June 21 from 8am-1pm
  • Swift Current Market Square - Saturday, June 24 from 10am-3pm

SK PCAP once again hosted their Youth Poster Contest

Entries were welcome until the post-mark deadline of June 1, with prizes for categories under age 6, ages 7-10, ages 11 & up. Thanks to everyone who entered, we will share winning entries during NPAW! 

Native Plant Society of Saskatchewan (NPSS) has planned two field tours near Saskatoon during NPAW.
